De Louw Le Roux

De Louw graduated from the University of the Free State in 1996 and is a duly qualified and admitted Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary. He also has the right to appear in the High Courts of South Africa. In addition to his legal practice, De Louw’s passion for imparting knowledge led him to serve as an external lecturer at the University of Johannesburg for 14 years. At the Business School of the University of Johannesburg, he lectured Mercantile Law, specialising in Contract Law and Corporate Governance.
De Louw’s commitment to professional growth is evident through his acquisition of an Advanced Diploma in Business Rescue, further enhancing his breadth of knowledge. Registered at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) as a Senior Business Rescue Practitioner, he exhibits a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies surrounding corporate rescue proceedings. Actively engaged in the legal community, De Louw plays an instrumental role within the Legal Practitioner Council (the LPC), previously known as the Law Society of the Northern Provinces. His involvement spans various committees, acting as a committee member and chairperson of various Disciplinary and Investigation Committees of the LPC.

This demonstrates his commitment to upholding the standards and ethics of the legal profession, ensuring the integrity and accountability of Legal Practitioners. 

Furthermore, De Louw contributes his expertise as an Examiner in the Attorney’s Admission Examination, specifically focusing on Conveyancing and Notarial Practices, thereby shaping the next generation of legal professionals.
De Louw’s international experience includes his tenure at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Solicitors, one of the world’s largest law firms, situated in London, England. Upon returning to South Africa, De Louw provided independent legal counsel to Sappi Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

Driven by his passion for the law and armed with over 24 years of experience in property law, De Louw frequently assumes the role of a legal commentator in the media. His contributions to public discourse serve to enlighten and educate the public on various legal matters, further solidifying his reputation as a respected authority in his field. De Louw founded the firm Le Roux & Du Plessis Attorneys in 2001 with Deofrann and he brings a wealth of knowledge in property law to serve his clients with unwavering dedication and skill, ensuring their legal needs are met with the utmost professionalism and proficiency.

Deofrann Du Plessis

Deofrann is an alumnus of the University of the Free State, having graduated and subsequently gained admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2000. His professional journey has been marked by diverse and enriching experiences. After his admittance, Deofrann joining Herbert Smith Solicitors, a prestigious law firm based in London, United Kingdom. During his tenure, he served as a foreign attorney in the Civil Litigation Department, contributing his expertise to a wide range of complex legal cases.

Seeking further professional growth and a deeper understanding of insolvency matters, Deofrann decided to join the Insolvency Services, an esteemed executive agency operating under the Department of Trade and Industry of the United Kingdom. This career move allowed him to expand his knowledge and sharpen his skills in handling insolvency-related issues.

Following his experiences abroad, Deofrann returned to his home country of South Africa and co-founded the firm Le Roux & Du Plessis Attorneys alongside De Louw.

With his exemplary work ethic, Deofrann has cultivated a loyal and esteemed client base who greatly appreciate his approachable demeanour and exceptional reputation in the legal sphere. His specialisation lies in new property developments, an area that has captivated his professional interest.

Deofrann frequently represents clients involved in new development projects and Township establishments, leveraging his expertise and legal acumen to ensure their interests are protected. Through his meticulous approach and comprehensive understanding of the intricacies surrounding property law, he has successfully guided numerous clients through the complexities of the ever-evolving landscape of new property ventures.  Deofrann stands as a respected figure within the legal community, constantly striving for excellence and maintaining an unwavering commitment to his clients and their legal needs.
